LinkedIn Changes Privacy Settings for User Emails

Just in time for the holidays: the gift of privacy for LinkedIn users….and the gift of a panic attack for sales and marketing specialists everywhere. As Marketing Land reports, LinkedIn has changed the default setting to “no” for users asked whether they want their email address to be available to their contacts. You’ll probably stop getting those “personal message from the CEO” emails in your inbox now. No is the new default for sharing your email address  

Live Selling on Facebook is Coming Soon!

You know you’ve come full circle when the newest innovation on Facebook harkens back to pre-Internet days when selling a cassette player or an acid-washed denim purse live on QVC television was a novelty. But as Social Media Today reports, Facebook Live indeed will be launching selling, and customers can interact with sellers to discuss the products–which, of course, probably won’t be cassette players or acid-washed purses. Losers and Winners of Black Friday 2018

J. Crew and Lowe’s both suffered from technical glitches over the Black Friday weekend, so they didn’t get a generous piece of the $6.22 billion pie of online sales, according to Retail Dive. And Sears…well, let’s just say it did not gift itself a shovel to dig out of its Chapter 11 woes. Those were the losers. The winners?
